High-speed rail plan mooted

High-speed rail plan mooted

The Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning suggests the government that they should build a high-speed rail which will be the first rail line in Thailand. The OTTP notes that the minimum money required is 800 billion baht. In 1997, the transport minister has established the construction line from Bangkok to Nakhon Ratchasima, but no government has responded to the plan yet. Then last year, the ministers suggested 4 destinations from Bangkok to access Chiang Mai city, Nong Khai, Chanthaburi and Padang Besar, in Songkhla's Sadao district on the border with Malaysia. Recently, The OTTP study four lines: from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, Nong Khai, Rayong and Hat Yai district in Songkhla. Even though, most of people would like a Rayong line, but Hat Yai line should be more benefit because Hat Yai is a center of commercial in the south.

..... In my opinion,If Thailand has high-speed train. It is a value for environment because many cars will getting down, save energy, not traffic jam, and the air will be good more than now. However,we still wait for the order from authority and I hope Thailand will get a good gift from them
